Joseph finished editing our documentary film just on time. We have already passed our documentary film and on friday we will be sharing our film to our class. We will be showing them what we have learned and made regarding our topic, global warming and climate change. This would not be possible if it weren't for the people who helped us accomplish our work in making this film. We would like to give recognition to our interviewees, Mrs. Edna Juanillo and Mr. Joselito Delvo, who shared their knowledge and time to us despite their busy schedules. We would also like to thank our beloved Environmental Science Professor, Ma'am Ramos, for guiding us in making our own documentary film and sharing to us her knowledge in making such films. But most of all, we would like to thank the Creator of all living things who made it possible for us to see the beauty of His masterpiece, the Earth.

A few days before the passing of our documentary film, Joseph found out that the videos we had were corrupted. He cannot do anything to make it work so we decided to have everything shot again. We set up a meeting and then we decided on when to shoot.
We made our shoot very simple. We just stayed in the premises of the university so as not to waste more time since the day of submission is coming near and Joseph still needs to do a lot of editing in our documentary film. Our shoot did not take long. Fortunately, the videos we took that day was good and was used in our film.

Joseph Delvo, our technical director, started editing our videos during the christmas break. We tried our best to finish everything before the break so he can start editing while we are on vacation. The videos we have seems to be complete yet we still need to do some dubbing. We still haven't talked about the schedule of our dubbing since the coming week will be a very stressing one for all of us because of our preliminary exams. On the other hand, Joseph is currently facing some difficulties in editing our videos. He's having a problem with the quality of our videos due to the use of a defective video converter. Hopefully, he may find a way to solve this problem since the passing of our documentary film is a few weeks from now.

Interview at PAGASA

We had our interview with Ms. Edna Juanillo in PAGASA at 2:00 pm. At first, we thought we might not be able to push through with our interview because when Joseph called to confirm our appointment the night before they told him they’ll be having a meeting. We also thought the gloomy weather might stop us. But since our Math professor did not attend our class, we had ample time to eat and call PAGASA to make the confirmation before we go to the venue of interview. Luckily, Ms. Edna Juanillo does not have a hectic schedule. We went on with our interview. We left the premises of the University of Santo Tomas at exactly 1:00 pm and arrived at PAGASA at 1:55 pm. We were surprised to know that we were not the only Thomasian Acountancy students that were present in PAGASA. The global warming group of 1-A1 was also there to conduct an interview. And since we arrived five minutes after them, we were the ones who waited. Waiting for more or less 45 minutes was fine because we really had a great time talking to each other about a lot of things. When our time for interview came, we immediately prepared the video camera that we will be using for the interview. We introduced ourselves first before we started the interview. Then after our preparations, the formal interview started. The interview we had was not as long as the previous group since we had lesser questions to our interviewee.
Ms. Edna Juanillo was really a very pleasant climatologist to interview. She was ready to answer all our questions. She even had a powerpoint presentation to give us further explanations on her views on global warming.
The interview went pretty well except for a minor problem we faced as the interview was ongoing. The disc our video camera had cannot store more videos. Fortunately, what we missed recording was only the last part of the interview which can already be disregarded. After the interview, we immediately went home.

Submission of documentary tools

As required by our Environmental Science professor, Ms. Ramos, our creative director, Sharlotte Leonen, already uploaded our timetable in Eleap while our scriptwriter, Mariness Cortez, uploaded our outline. Supposedly, three documentary tools are required to be uploaded in Eleap today. But since there is a problem linking our blog to Eleap, we weren't able to do this third requirement.

First trip to PAGASA

After our class, we went straight to PAGASA to make an appointment with a climatologist for our interview. Sharlotte and Mariness weren't able to come due to some reasons. Since we do not know where exactly PAGASA is, we asked one of our blockmates to accompany us. After riding a bus, we walked a little to get to PAGASA. Uncertain of the outcome of our trip, we continued our way to PAGASA without having any contact person who would help us make an appointment with a climatologist. Luckily, the people we met were really nice. Though they asked us to go from one room to another at first, it was okay because we landed in a room full of very inviting individuals. They were really very pleasing. They did not require us to give them the list of questions we are to ask them in our interview. They simply asked us the purpose of our interview and our course. Our schedule of interview was even based on our own schedule and not on theirs. Our first trip to PAGASA was really a success.
We'll be coming back to PAGASA for our interview on friday (December 12, 2008) at 2:00 pm.

Our Global Warning

This blog has been done for the purpose of highlighting the development of our documentary film about Global Warming and Climate Change for our Environmental Science class. Our documentary film entitled "Our Global Warning" aims to warn and educate people about this threatening issue that is undoubtedly killing us silently.
Our group started making our documentary film last November 22, 2008. We went to Manila Zoo to take some pictures and to have some random interviews. We didn’t really have any plans on that particular shoot. We just went around taking some pictures of the place as well as of the animals. We also tried interviewing some workers in the zoo but then they refused when we told them we had to take a picture of them. Frustrated on having no one to interview, we decided to interview the kids who were having their fieldtrip and loitering around the zoo. But then the rain started to fall and so we waited until the rain stopped before we started our ambush interview. After finishing some interviews, we decided to call it a day and went home.
Almost two weeks have passed since our tour on Manila Zoo and we have not made any major changes on our documentary film. We tried making plans, outlines, and scripts but nothing has been finalized yet. Then last December 4, 2008, we finally talked about our plans on our documentary film and decided to have some shoots on the coming days.
We started our formal shoot last December 5, 2008. After our PE classes, we went straight to Joseph’s apartment to shoot on their rooftop. We finished some scenes and talked about our plans for tomorrow’s shoot.
December 6, 2008, we met at UST AMV building at 10 am. Together with the Biodiversity group of 1A9, we went to La Mesa Eco Park. Before we started our shoot, we prepared first our idiot board then went around the Eco Park to look for good places to shoot. After some preparations, we already started our shoot. We finished the introduction of our documentary film and some other scenes and by 3 pm we decided to call it a rap.
We haven’t interviewed any professional regarding our topic yet but we have already sent our questions to DENR and we are just waiting for our interview date. We are also planning to arrange interviews with PAGASA and Greenpeace but their decisions are still to come.
